Haurat Mulgi?

I couldn’t wait to write my second blog. I have never been this enthusiastic about writing. I actually dreamt the whole of last night about how my blog is a big success (:P), it was quite exciting. When I woke up my phone had quite a few notifications- I had views! Some favourites and some cool tweets about it! Thank you everyone for all the support. Two questions that most people asked me were- What is ‘Haurat Mulgi’ and Why ‘Haurat Mulgi? So this is what this post is about.

Haurat is one of my favourite words and I use it all the time. Haurat means ‘greedy’ and ‘mulgi’ is girl in Marathi. Why greedy? Sounds negative? For me it is just a human emotion- just the way feeling happy, sad, excited or jealous is. Moreover I love how it sounds. Good food brings out the haurat in me. That is basically why my blog is called Haurat Mulgi!

Just to make this post cooler I found this quote by Michael Douglas in the 1987 movie, ‘Wall Street’- “Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind.”
